As some of you may have noticed, ArtWanted.com was down for the last 12 hours. This was due to a major network problem with our ISP, which was outside of our control. ArtWanted.com was only one of hundreds of websites that was effected by this outage.
We posted updates on our Twitter and Facebook pages to keep our members updated on the situation.
We apologize everyone that tried to access the site during this downtime. We are talking with our ISP to find out the root cause of this issue and what steps they will be taking so that it does not happen again.
While the site is back online, it may be a little slower than normal. This too should be resolved within the next 24-48 hours.

We are excited to announce a new beta website for all our members to enjoy...www.ArtFeedback.com
Over the years we have found that almost every artist loves to know what others think of their work. We created ArtFeedback.com with the simple purpose of collecting more feedback for the members of the site.
As visitors and artists spend time on the site, they can rate the artwork and/or leave comments about the images they see. This valuable feedback is then shared with the artist.
ArtFeedback.com is brand new and currently in beta. We are still working behind the scenes to complete the features for the official launch. However, we have opened up our site in beta to start collecting feedback. We expect to have our official website launch in March/April 2010.
So, why would we build a new site for ratings/comments when ArtWanted.com already has this feature?
There are actually many reasons why we decided to build this site...
- The ratings/comments are just a tiny piece of ArtWanted.com and sometimes gets lost in everything else we offer here. We wanted a simple website that was 100% focused on feedback to the artist.
- ArtFeedback.com has a limited number of images to view, so the images on this website will get looked at much more. This will increase your exposure and feedback to your art.
- Having a different website address will bring in new traffic and website visitors to ArtFeedback.com and ArtWanted.com
- We already had the ratings/comments code for this site, so it was easy to spin this off to a new website.
- It's just one more way for you to get exposure and feedback to your artwork.
This new website was not created to replace ArtWanted.com by any means and may not be for everyone. However, if you are looking for more exposure and feedback on your art, we invite you to try it out for a while and let us know what you think.

Can't find a certain page on our website? Now you can!
We have added a new link at the bottom of every page of our site, which links to our new "Site Map". This site map displays all of the major links and pages on ArtWanted.com, so you can quickly find the area of our site you are looking for.
It's not an major update to our site, but just a little something to help everyone find things easier on ArtWanted.com - Enjoy!
As more and more people are surfing the internet with their phones, we want to make sure they are surfing the mobile version of ArtWanted.com - which is found at ArtWanted.mobi and looking at YOUR artwork.
Today we made a change to our site to help push more people to our mobile version for a better experience on their phone.
If someone is on their mobile phone and they type in ArtWanted.com or they click on a link to our site, they will now be automatically forwarded to the mobile version of our site, so the page will load fast and the content will fit their screen better.
This new change is especially helpful for those that click on a link to ArtWanted.com from their Facebook or Twitter mobile apps. The corrisponding ArtWanted.mobi page will load quickly and give them exactly what they were looking for.
If that person prefers to view the normal version of ArtWanted.com there is a link at the bottom of the mobile page, which will send them right back to the full version of ArtWanted.com.
We expect these changes will encourage more people to view artwork from our members and hang out on our mobile site a little longer. Enjoy!

Each year we like to give a quick recap of the previous year for all our members to read. 2009 was a great year for ArtWanted.com! We had over 5,000 new artists join our site and we built a handful of upgrades for our members to enjoy. Here is a quick review of these new features...
NEW WEBSITE FEATURES IN 2009:
- New Quick Zoom Premium Feature - Hover over part of an image to magnify the artwork up to 3x for a closer look at the details.
- New Full-Screen Premium Feature - Premium Members can activate the option to have their images display at full-screen.
- ArtWanted.com Blog - For our members to quickly read everything that is changing on our website.
- New Twitter & Facebook Pages - ArtWanted.com got into social media in 2009 by creating an active Facebook and Twitter page for our members.
- New Statistics Reports - This new report shows who is looking at your portfolio and how they found you.
- New Server Equipment & Optimizations - The recent upgrades we did to our servers has increased the performance of our website and decreased our site down-time.
- New Artist Store - This new section of your portfolio page filters only the artwork you have for sale on our site.
- Improved Sales Notifications - We added multiple ways to inform our members when they have a sale on our site.
- New Website: ArtistMarketingTips.com - A new website dedicated to helping artists better market their artwork.

ArtWanted.com has many great plans for 2010, but we also want to have your "wish list" of the things you want from ArtWanted.com this year. We have created a simple survey for all our members to give us some feedback on a few topics and suggestions on what features/upgrades you would like to see in the near future. We have made a little change to our message boards to make it easier for our members to read all of the ArtWanted.com updates on one page.
We have changed the "Announcements" section of our message boards to be in a blog format, so all of the posts from our staff are stacked on top of each other. You can quickly read all of the updates about our site all on one page.

It's December again, and that means it's time or the 2009 Holiday Gallery!
This annual gallery features artwork and photographs from our members with a "Holday Theme". You can expect to see great images of Christmas, Santa, Snowman, Christmas Trees, Snow and everything else associated with this season.
We have over 3,300 images in this special gallery and over 275 of these are new this year.
If you have any holiday related artwork/photos that you would like to post in this gallery, you can submit them from your members area.

2009 Holiday Art Gallery
We are excited to announce a new feature for our Premium Members!
This new upgrade is called the "QuickZoom" feature and it does a couple of great things...
1) When you hover over an image in your portfolio that has the QuickZoom feature enabled, you will see a new pop-up panel next to the image, which shows a detailed view of the part of the image you are looking at. The QuickZoom panel will magnify your artwork up to 3x, so you can check out the fine details of the artwork/photograph.
2) Optionally, you can also turn on the "full-screen" QuickZoom, which will allow users to click on your portfolio images and enlarge them to fill their entire screen. For your image protection, this full-screen feature is turned off by default. You can enable it inside your member preferences.
This new QuickZoom feature is now turned on for all ArtWanted.com Premium Members and will work for all NEW artwork that is uploaded to our site! We hope you enjoy this new feature and the benefits it will bring to your portfolio. Let us know what you think.

Have you ever wanted to know who is visiting your ArtWanted.com portfolio and how they found you? This new statistics page shows you what type of people are hitting your portfolio and how they found you.
The first new chart on this page shows WHO is looking at your portfolio. Your traffic is divided into ArtWanted.com members, anonymous visitors/buyers and your own visits. You can now see what percent of your hits are from other artists and those that are not artists.
The next pie chart on this report shows HOW they found your portfolio. Your traffic is broken down by hits from ArtWanted.com pages, external referring traffic and direct hits from bookmarks or those that typed in your URL directly.
This new report is available to both free & premium members of our site. Additional statistics reports are coming soon. Enjoy!
